Control Tower

A logistics control tower consolidates what would otherwise be several separate screens — tracking, orders, exceptions, ETAs — into one operational picture. The defining characteristic is not the dashboard but the authority: a control tower is a place where decisions are taken, not merely a place where status is displayed.

The feature that distinguishes a working one is exception ranking. A network of any size generates more exceptions than a team can address, so presenting them chronologically guarantees the team works the trivial ones. Ranking by revenue at risk or by SLA proximity means the ₹4 lakh problem gets attention before the ₹4,000 one.

Most implementations fail on process rather than software. Without a defined escalation matrix, acknowledgement, and a closure record, a control tower becomes a wall of red that everyone stops looking at. The screen is the easy part; deciding who owns which exception and by when is the part that determines whether it changes anything.
