What owners actually ask
Not 'where is truck 14'. They ask which contracts are underwater, which assets should be sold, and why last month's fuel bill moved when kilometres did not. Those answers do not live in a tracking portal or in Tally. They live in a model where trip, fuel, workshop and invoice share an asset ID.
That model is ERP. Calling it 'fleet software' undersells it. Calling a map 'AI fleet management' oversells a layer that has nothing to learn from.
The cost of not having it
Every extra system is a reconciliation job. Someone is already doing that job in Excel at month-end, which is why you find out a lane lost money in the same week you pay salaries. FleetERP moves that reconciliation into the day the exception happened.
