Fuel cards in the UAE and the ERP layer they need

A fuel card is a payment rail. Fuel control is matching litres to movement.

Cards without context

UAE fleets already buy fuel on account. The monthly file from the oil company is tidy and late. By the time a suspicious fill is spotted, the vehicle has done another week of trips. GPS already knew whether it was moving. The card file did not ask.

Connect the card (or nozzle) events to the same vehicle record as the GPS and the trip. Then a fill that exceeds tank capacity, or happens while the asset is in the workshop, is an exception the same hour — not a forensic project for finance.

What the month-end file cannot do

Oil-company statements arrive after the damage. They also cannot see a vehicle that was geofenced in the workshop or a driver who was not on that asset. Matching is an operations problem. Put it in the ERP, not in a quarterly audit.

FAQ

Questions this piece usually raises

The card tells you what was bought. It does not tell you whether the vehicle moved, whether the tank could hold that fill, or whether a second fill happened off-route. That matching is ERP.

Run the fleet on one operating system

Device-agnostic ERP — keep the GPS you already paid for.
